For anyone feeling like life is moving too fast

This is your invitation to slow down.

In a world full of constant advancement, technology, AI, and a pace we try so hard to keep up with, it’s easy to lose sight of the little moments that shape us.

Images don’t just help us remember, they allow us to re-experience: revealing layers of gratitude, meaning, and deeper understanding to ourselves, that we might have missed when not pausing to reflect, which often gives the sensation that life is flying by.

This workshop offers a space to honour what has happened over the last year. The milestones, the challenges, and the moments in between - with friends, family, and ourselves. Together, we’ll take time to reflect, remember, and reconnect through the images you’ve taken, expanding your exploration of memories and emotions through them.

Course schedule

- Subject to be adjusted depending on the groups needs -

Detailed schedule will be sent out to participants in advance.

Day 1 - Connection, Meaning & Discovering Our Year in Images

We begin by arriving, settling in, and meeting one another.
Through guided reflection, conversation, and hands-on activities, we explore what draws us to an image - the memories, emotions, and small details that feel significant, deeping our understanding of using images as springboards.

Together, we spend time going through our photographs from 2025 (ideally printed), gathering a “year-in-photos” collection. As we reflect, we begin noticing the stories, patterns, and themes that surface - the moments that shaped our year and the feelings that they carry.

We also look at editing and cropping techniques that can help highlight meaning: not for aesthetics, but for clarity of expression.
Towards the end, we will experiment through small exercises with taking a few new photographs connected to emotions.

By the end of Day 1, we have each begin to develop a meaningful selection of images from our year, identified emerging themes, and found a direction for the story of our year we want to explore on Day 2.

Day 2 - Self and closure

Day 2 takes us deeper into personal meaning and creative expression.
We will explore self-portraiture as a way to document how we feel, and recognise transition, presence, and intention. Whether through an image of ourselves, our environment, or something symbolic that feels like us in this moment. From here, we move into the heart of the workshop: continue to craft our visual narratives for 2025.

Together, we will: revisit and refine our chosen images, uncover and clarify our personal themes, curate and sequence our photographs, and assemble them into a scrapbook, folded zine, or printed set.

There will be room for quiet concentration, creative play, and conversation, with a balance of working individually and creating alongside others.

By the end of Day 2, we leave with: a completed or near-completed photo book / zine / scrapbook and s sense of clarity and closure around 2025

Looking forward to creating together!

  • Absolutely not! This is open for everyone - as long as you have a curiosity in learning about the power of photography, that’s all you need! The workshop is not about technical photography or camera skills. Participants can use any images: phone photos, snapshots, printed images, or archival pictures. What matters is personal meaning, not artistic polish.

  • Anyone interested in creativity, self-reflection, or photography as a form of personal exploration. Whether you’re an artist, a curious beginner, or simply someone wanting to make sense of the past year, this space is for you.

  • Any images and highlights from your life this year. They can simply be from your phone archives, digital camera, or even scans of film. Everyday snapshots work beautifully, it’s more important that they activate a memory or feeling in you (milestones, change, feelings of joy, love, sadness, etc.). You don’t need to have them all by the first session, as there will be time in between the next session to go deeper into your collection from what you have learned.

  • Sharing is always optional. Many participants find that discussion deepens their insight and connection, but you’re welcome to share only what feels comfortable.

  • Two full days of guided workshops, materials, curated visual prompts, and refreshments.

  • The workshop isn’t therapy, but it draws from therapeutic photography principles — using images as tools for self-reflection, emotional awareness, and storytelling. It’s about connecting with your own visual world in a supportive, mindful, and non-judgmental way.

  • A camera from your smart phone is perfectly acceptable. If you wish to use a DSLR or point and shoot, that is also fine! Analog photography is welcome, but keep in mind you should have access to have them developed quickly in order to make the most of the course.

  • Each group is limited to 8 participants to keep the space intimate and supportive.

  • Yes! You can reserve a spot for someone or receive a printable gift voucher to share with them.
Simply reach out, and I’ll take care of the details.

  • It’s best experienced as a full two-day process, but if something comes up, please reach out. We’ll explore options together.
