Remembering the
Year Through Images
Starting December 15th: 2 pm AST / 7 pm CET
5 weekly ONLINE sessions via Zoom
For anyone feeling like life is moving too fast
This is your invitation to slow down.
In a world full of constant advancement, technology, AI, and a pace we try so hard to keep up with, it’s easy to lose sight of the little moments that shape us.
Images don’t just help us remember, they allow us to re-experience: revealing layers of gratitude, meaning, and deeper understanding to ourselves, that we might have missed when not pausing to reflect, which often gives the sensation that life is flying by.
This workshop offers a space to honour what has happened over the last year. The milestones, the challenges, and the moments in between - with friends, family, and ourselves. Together, we’ll take time to reflect, remember, and reconnect through the images you’ve taken, expanding your exploration of memories and emotions through them.

Course schedule

Each week builds onto the next, guiding you from noticing to creating to sharing.
There will be optional exercises introduced in each session, which can be done in your own time in between sessions. Detailed schedule will be sent out to participants in advance.
Week 1 — Connection
We begin by meeting one another and settling into the online space. Through guided sharing, we will start gathering your “year-in-photos” collection and reconnecting with the quiet stories your images hold, and looking at different themes that may come up for the year.
Week 2 — Meaning
We will look closely at your photographs to discover patterns, emotions, and small details that speak back to you. Gentle discussion will help you see how your images mirror your inner landscape and what truly matters to you. We will also look together at what edits we could do to the photos to enhance this feeling.
Week 3 — Expression
We will discuss as a group and in break out sessions how we can create new photographs inspired by what you’ve uncovered. Learn to experiment with light, texture, and perspective to express feeling and intuition through image-making, bridging reflection and creativity.
Week 4 — Self
Transition into the “future self” and intention-setting. We will look at how we can introduce self-portraiture as a reflective and empowering practice. Through discussions we will explore identity, transition, and a small assignment will be given using self-portraiture as a way to recognise growth and intention.
Week 5 — Sharing and closure
We will bring everything together and create space for each to share their visual story with the group. Together, we will revisit, refine, and sequence your images, reflecting on the journey of your year and what it has taught you. You will leave with a tangible expression of your year and a sense of creative wholeness.

-
Absolutely not! This is open for everyone - as long as you have a curiosity in learning about the power of photography, that’s all you need! The workshop is not about technical photography or camera skills. Participants can use any images: phone photos, snapshots, printed images, or archival pictures. What matters is personal meaning, not artistic polish.
-
Each group is limited to 6 participants to keep the space intimate and supportive.
-
Anyone interested in creativity, self-reflection, or photography as a form of personal exploration. Whether you’re an artist, a curious beginner, or simply someone wanting to make sense of the past year, this space is for you.
-
Any images and highlights from your life this year. They can simply be from your phone archives, digital camera, or even scans of film. Everyday snapshots work beautifully, it’s more important that they activate a memory or feeling in you (milestones, change, feelings of joy, love, sadness, etc.). You don’t need to have them all by the first session, as we will look at different areas during the sessions
-
Sharing is always optional. Many participants find that discussion deepens their insight and connection, but you’re welcome to share only what feels comfortable.
-
The workshop isn’t therapy, but it draws from therapeutic photography principles — using images as tools for self-reflection, emotional awareness, and storytelling. It’s about connecting with your own visual world in a supportive, mindful, and non-judgmental way.
-
A camera from your smart phone is perfectly acceptable. If you wish to use a DSLR or point and shoot, that is also fine! Analog photography is welcome, but keep in mind you should have access to have them developed quickly in order to make the most of the course.
-
Yes! You can reserve a spot for someone or receive a printable gift voucher to share with them.
Simply reach out, and I’ll take care of the details.
